The Central Coast Home Visitors Hub is rooted in the work of the Tri-Counties Home Visiting Workforce Development Initiative—a regional effort focused on strengthening and sustaining the home visiting workforce across Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Ventura Counties.

Tri-Counties Home Visiting Workforce Development Initiative

The Tri-Counties Home Visiting Workforce Development Initiative began as a collaborative, multi-year systems change effort supported by First 5 California’s Home Visiting Coordination funding. Its goal was to build a more unified, sustainable home visiting system by strengthening coordination, aligning resources, and elevating the voices of home visitors.

Through this work, regional partners focused on:

– Building cross-county collaboration and shared infrastructure

– Integrating home visiting into existing early childhood and health systems

– Supporting workforce well-being, professional development, and advocacy

– Advancing long-term sustainability and financial pathways for the field

The Central Coast Home Visitors Hub is one outcome of the Tri-Counties Home Visiting Workforce Development Initiative and the ongoing home for this work. Created in collaboration with home visiting professionals, the Hub serves as a centralized regional resource for tools, training, events, and shared learning.

Developed through a partnership between First 5 Santa Barbara County, First 5 Ventura County, and First 5 San Luis Obispo County, with funding from the First 5 California grant, the Hub reflects a continued commitment to elevating the profession and supporting families across the Tri-Counties region. The Hub is maintained by First 5 Santa Barbara County, and this work is continued by First 5 Santa Barbara County’s Early Childhood Health and Wellness Coalition.
